課程概述

In this course, the principles of physical chemistry, and in particular
reaction kinetics, will be introduced through the prism of biological
sciences. 

課程目標
By the end of the course, the students will:
1. Understand basic concepts of kinetics in physical chemistry.
2. Be able to correlate these with central biological processes, such as
metabolism, protein synthesis and folding, and enzyme catalysis.
3. Have acquired a working knowledge of basic experimental methods in biophysical chemistry, as well as the mathematical tools used to said experiments.

Although there are no required readings, as all necessary information will
be provided in the lectures, the course will generally follow chapters 6 to
13 of the text book “Physical Chemistry for the Life Sciences” 2nd Edition,
Atkins & de Paula.
